Once We Were Humans
Once we were humans, capable of marvellous things.
Once we were the screaming wild prophets of the lowland and the unpolished artists of a universe we knew as ours. We were lovers. Poets.
Once we were runners, trackers and warriors.
We were keepers of what is given. Of life and all its necessities.
Once we were sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers.
We were hunters by night and collectors by dawn.
We were free, dreaming bravely. Untouchable and limitless.
